The 2016 SI Leeds Literary Prize, the Aspire-igen Award, was awarded to Amita Murray for Marmite and Mango Chutney.
Amita Murray has since gone on to secure a two book deal with Harper Collins and Finding Rose is due to be published in 2019. Read an extract of Amita’s winning entry here.
Second place went to Winnie M Li for Dark Chapter – now published by Legend Press – and third place was awarded to Jamilah Ahmed for Recognising Strangers.
Jamilah Ahmed also won the SI Readers’ Choice award, and a year’s free Mslexia subscription, courtesy of Mslexia.
